Even a God-King Can Bleed: The Rivers State Crisis Through the Lens of 300

By Chico Mies The confrontation between Leonidas and Xerxes in 300 and the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State share striking thematic similarities, particularly in the struggle between power and resistance.  Leonidas’ quote: “The world will know that a free man stood against a tyrant. That few stood against many. And before this battle was over, even a god-king can bleed.” resonates deeply with the current standoff in Rivers State, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara finds himself at odds with the federal authority following President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency. The Tyrant vs. The Free Man In 300, Xerxes presents himself as an all-powerful ruler, demanding submission from Leonidas and the Spartans. Similarly, Tinubu’s imposition of emergency rule can be interpreted as an assertion of supreme federal power over Rivers State, challenging its autonomy. Fubara, like Leonidas, stands as a figure of defiance, resisting what he and his supporters perceive ...

The deadline for the migration to the Pi Network Mainnet has been established as December 31, 2024.

By Chico Mies

The transition to the mainnet will facilitate the trading of Pi tokens on decentralized exchanges, allow for their utilization in real-world transactions, and support their integration into a range of decentralized applications (DApps).

Pi Network is diligently working to ensure that its mainnet migration date remains December 31, 2024, a pivotal milestone in the project's evolution.

This migration will facilitate the transition of Pi tokens from a testnet environment to a fully operational blockchain network.
Once the mainnet migration is complete, Pi tokens will be available for trading on decentralized exchanges, utilized for real-world transactions, and incorporated into a variety of decentralized applications (DApps).

Social media platforms are abuzz with confirmations from Pi Network's founder and CEO, affirming that the deadline for the open mainnet migration is still scheduled for December 31, 2024, as initially intended.

PI Network has announced an extension of the initial deadline for KYC application submissions, moving it from September 30 to November 30, 2024. This Checklist encompasses essential tasks such as identity verification through KYC, safeguarding your Pi balance, and preparing for the transition to Mainnet.

Users who fail to meet the December 31 deadline will forfeit the majority of their Pi balance, with the exception of Pi mined in the six months leading up to the migration. This makes the final deadline particularly crucial for individuals aiming to retain their Pi earnings and fully engage in the network’s Open Network phase.

The Pi Network emphasizes that the migration to Mainnet represents not merely a technical shift but a critical advancement toward achieving its overarching objectives of establishing a decentralized, community-oriented economy. The network encourages all participants to ensure compliance with this deadline and to remind their Referral Team and Security Circle members to do the same.

What is the rationale behind the extension?

The extension was approved to tackle various concerns, notably technical difficulties related to the KYC timer that affected certain users. Furthermore, this extension provides additional time for more participants to complete their account verification, thereby sustaining community engagement and supporting the objectives of Pi Network’s Open Mainnet.

Important Dates to Note:

November 30, 2024: Deadline for the new KYC application.

December 31, 2024: Final deadline for Mainnet migration.

As time is of the essence, Pi Network urges all Pioneers to finalize their KYC at the earliest opportunity. Failing to meet these deadlines may result in considerable losses, particularly for individuals with substantial Pi balances accrued over time. The grace period indicates that no additional extensions will be granted, reinforcing the network's commitment to fully transition to an open blockchain ecosystem by year-end.

BREAKING: Tinubu’s Nationwide Broadcast Contained False Oil Production Data, OPEC Reports

By Chico Mies. Tinubu asserted that Nigeria's crude oil output had attained 1.6 million barrels per day, crediting this achievement to the reforms implemented by his administration within the oil sector.
