Just six hours prior to the eagerly awaited launch event for the iPhone 16, Apple’s official online storage has become inaccessible.
Visitors are currently greeted with a notification that reads: “Be right back. We’re making updates to the Apple Store. Check back soon.” This brief interruption occurs as the technology leader prepares to introduce its latest offerings.
The downtime is highlighted by a stylish blue and pink Apple logo, which aligns with the design presented in the invitation for today’s event, titled “It’s Glowtime.” The event is scheduled to occur in Cupertino, California, at 10:00 AM PT (18:00 BST).
Although Apple has not yet disclosed specific information regarding new devices, it is customary for the iPhone 16 series to be announced. Speculation suggests the introduction of four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, each available in a variety of colours. This year’s models are anticipated to feature slightly larger screens, marking the first increase since the iPhone 12, along with a new button on the right side that may attract selfie enthusiasts.
Regarding colour selections, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are rumoured to be available in hues of blue, green, white, black, and pink, while the Pro models may offer more muted shades such as white, black, grey, and bronze.
Additionally, Apple is rumoured to unveil other new products, including a special edition of the Apple Watch commemorating its 10th anniversary and potentially two new models of AirPods.
Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 are anticipated to commence on Friday, September 13, with the initial shipments likely to be dispatched on Friday, September 20. The launch event will be broadcast live on Apple’s website, YouTube, and the Apple TV app.
