Brahim Diaz Agrees New Contract with Real Madrid After Alonso’s Intervention

Real Madrid have secured an agreement with Spanish-Moroccan forward Brahim Diaz over a new long-term contract, according to ESPN. The deal is expected to be made official in the coming weeks as the club continues to prioritise contract renewals for key players.

The decision comes after manager Xabi Alonso personally reached out to Diaz, outlining the crucial role he envisions for him in Madrid’s future. Interestingly, this conversation took place even before Alonso formally assumed his role as head coach. The player was impressed by the coach’s plans and expectations, which ultimately convinced him to stay despite significant interest from several European clubs.

Paris Saint-Germain had targeted Diaz last summer, and he also received offers in the current transfer window. However, the 26-year-old remained firm in his desire to continue at the Santiago Bernabéu, with Alonso’s influence proving decisive.

Further demonstrating his trust, Alonso handed Diaz a starting role in Madrid’s first league match against Osasuna, placing him ahead of Rodrygo in the team’s attacking setup.

While specific details of the renewal have not yet been disclosed, the agreement is seen as a major boost for Real Madrid’s long-term project and has been welcomed by both the club and its supporters.
