Barcelona kicked off their 2025/26 La Liga campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over Mallorca at Son Moix on Saturday night.
The champions stamped their authority early, as Raphinha broke the deadlock in the 7th minute with a header from Lamine Yamal’s pinpoint delivery. Ferran Torres added the second just 16 minutes later, finishing clinically while Mallorca were distracted by an injured defender. Yamal then put the game beyond doubt in stoppage time, calmly slotting home in the 94th minute.
Mallorca’s night worsened before the break when they were reduced to nine men. Manu Morlanes was dismissed for two bookable offenses in the 33rd minute, and Vedat Muriqi followed six minutes later with a straight red for a reckless foul on goalkeeper Joan GarcÃa.
Under new coach Hansi Flick, Barça impressed with a high-energy pressing game, dominating possession and dictating the tempo throughout.
The result gives Barcelona a strong start to their title defense, with their next test coming at the Camp Nou as they aim to sustain momentum in pursuit of more silverware.
