Hundreds of thousands of conversations with Elon Musk’s xAI chatbot, Grok, have become searchable on Google, raising major privacy concerns.
According to Forbes, the problem comes from Grok’s “share” button, which creates a unique URL whenever users share their chats. These links are being indexed by search engines such as Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo, allowing anyone to access them publicly.
The leaked conversations expose a wide range of requests, from casual role-play to dangerous and illegal queries. Some users reportedly asked Grok for advice on hacking crypto wallets, producing fentanyl, committing suicide, and even building bombs. Shockingly, one conversation allegedly included a plan for the assassination of Elon Musk himself.
Although xAI’s rules prohibit harmful or criminal use of the chatbot, these findings reveal how easily users bypass safeguards.
This incident follows a similar case last month when some ChatGPT conversations appeared in Google searches. OpenAI later described it as a “short-lived experiment.” xAI, however, has yet to issue an official response
