The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially announced the commencement of applications for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 34/2025.
In a statement released on its verified X handle on Tuesday, the Air Force invited qualified Nigerians across multiple disciplines—including engineering, medicine, and cyber specialities—to apply, reflecting the military’s adaptation to the realities of modern warfare.
According to NAF, the recruitment exercise is free of charge, and applications will run online from August 27 to October 7, 2025, via the official portal: https://nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
- Age limit is 20–32 years, except for medical consultants who may apply between 25–40 years.
- This recruitment is strictly for DSSC; serving personnel above 32 years are not eligible.
- Serving personnel applying must have a minimum of 10 years’ service, attained the rank of Corporal, and present a recommendation letter from their Commanding Officer.
- Male applicants must not be shorter than 1.66m, while females must be at least 1.63m tall.
- Candidates must have no previous criminal convictions.
- Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, meeting all NAF standards.
- A minimum of Second Class Upper Division is required, alongside an NYSC Discharge Certificate or a valid Letter of Exemption.
NAF further disclosed that a Zonal General Aptitude Test will be conducted, with the date to be announced on the recruitment portal. Only shortlisted applicants will proceed to the Selection Interview.
