The order was issued on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
According to a statement from the Federal Government, the move is aimed at safeguarding road infrastructure from collapse and ensuring the safety of motorists and commuters.
Key projects under this directive include the Third Mainland Bridge, the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, and the Kano-Maiduguri Highway.
The government noted that the initiative is part of a broader push to strengthen infrastructure and stimulate economic growth.
“President Tinubu directs emergency repairs on key roads and bridges nationwide to prevent collapse and ensure safety. Projects include Third Mainland Bridge restrictions, repairs on Lagos-Badagry, Kano-Maiduguri Highway, Kebbe Bridge Sokoto, Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, and Benin-Asaba Road.
This strategic move advances the #RenewedHopeAgenda by boosting infrastructure resilience and economic growth across Nigeria,” the statement read.
