Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, says he will only back the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate if the party’s primary is conducted in a free and fair manner.
Speaking during an X Space session titled Weekend Politics, Amaechi pledged full commitment to the campaign of whoever emerges under such conditions, with the aim of defeating President Bola Tinubu.
“In a free and fair primary, whoever wins will have my full support. I will be deeply devoted to the campaign and will do everything in my ability to help ADC unseat this current clueless government,” he said. “I will abandon the coastal road, that road is for stealing. Electoral reforms are the lowest hanging fruits for me if I become President. There will be electoral reforms in my first six months.”
Reports suggest that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi are among those eyeing the ADC ticket.
