UK Plans Visa Crackdown on “High-Risk” Countries Amid Fears of Asylum Abuse

By Chico Mies The UK government is preparing to restrict visa access for nationals from countries like Nigeria, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, as part of a wider crackdown aimed at curbing visa overstaying and asylum abuse. According to reports, individuals from these countries may soon find it harder to obtain work or study visas. The Home Office claims the move targets those who legally enter the UK but later switch to claiming asylum, potentially staying permanently if granted. The department’s forthcoming Immigration White Paper will outline sweeping reforms to address what officials call a “broken immigration system.” Although the Home Office hasn’t published exit data since 2020, ministers argue that undocumented overstayers pose a challenge to the system’s integrity. Victor Osimhen Extends Lead in Turkish Super League Golden Boot Race

By Chico Mies Victor Osimhen Victor Osimhen has strengthened his lead in the Turkish Super League top scorers chart after netting twice in Galatasaray’s win over Sivasspor. The Nigerian striker, currently on loan from Italy, now boasts 24 goals in 27 league appearances. His performance is a major boost for Galatasaray’s title ambitions and brings his season tally across all competitions to 33—surpassing the 31 goals he scored in his standout campaign with Napoli. Krzysztof Piatek Krzysztof Piatek of Basaksehir remains a close rival, scoring his 21st league goal against Hatayspor. With four fixtures left, the Polish forward still has a chance to close the gap. Simon Banza and Youssef En-Nesyri also remain in the mix. Should Osimhen clinch the Golden Boot, he would make history as the first Nigerian and the first loanee to achieve the feat in Turkey’s top-flight football.
