A woman in a video has recounted her terrifying encounter with operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), describing the ordeal as deeply unsettling. According to her, the agents forcefully broke into her home in the middle of the night, catching her completely off guard and vulnerable since she was unclothed at the time.
She explained how the operatives scaled the fence of the compound like armed robbers, wielding axes and machetes, creating a climate of fear and chaos. The raid was allegedly conducted in search of suspected internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as “Yahoo boys,” and it left her and others in the compound traumatized.
According to the lady, “EFCC Operatives Broke Into Our Room Like Thieves While I Was Naked. They Jumped Our Fence Like Armed Robbers, Armed With Axes and Machetes. They Even Stole My Belongings,” she says.
Shockingly, she claimed that the agents not only violated their privacy but also took away her personal belongings, exacerbating the situation. Her account underscores the controversial and often criticized methods used by the EFCC in their operations, sparking outrage and raising concerns about the abuse of power and disregard for human rights.
This incident, she lamented, is yet another example of the law enforcement challenges faced by citizens in Nigeria, where such midnight raids and allegations of misconduct by authorities continue to occur without accountability.
