Lamine Yamal Celebrates His Equaliser Against Real Madrid |
Barcelona achieved a remarkable 5-2 triumph over Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final, which took place in Saudi Arabia on January 12, 2025.
Real Madrid opened the scoring with an early goal from Kylian Mbappé; however, Barcelona swiftly reversed the momentum. The Catalan team surged ahead with goals from Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski (from the penalty spot), Raphinha, and Alejandro Balde, establishing a commanding 4-1 lead by the end of the first half.
In the second half, Raphinha further increased the lead by netting his second goal, bringing the score to 5-1. Despite Wojciech Szczesny receiving a red card, which left Barcelona with ten players, they maintained their dominance throughout the match.
Real Madrid managed to score a late goal through Rodrygo Goes, but it failed to pose any real threat to Barcelona’s superiority.
This victory represented Barcelona’s 15th title in the Spanish Super Cup, setting a new benchmark in the history of the competition.
